Crack One

This bottle opener was one of the projects in ME 128: Computer Aided Product Realization. In this course we learned to operate a Hass CNC Machine and understand DFM imfplications in CNC manufacturing.

As you can see from the CAD image, the offset was not intentional. I learned the very important lesson of triple checking my probe-point coordinates in this project. If I had more time I would have re-machined the whole piece, but I had very few opportunities to get into the machining lab due to beach volleyball travel, so I had to take my lesson and move onto the next project. I wish I have design it with the offset because I like how it makes it look like the shell may be opening. :)
